Bootkit

A Bootkit is an advanced form of malware that infects the master boot record (MBR) of a computer’s hard disk. This enables it to load before the operating system boots, making it difficult to detect and remove. A bootkit may be used to gain unauthorized access to a system, steal data, or perform other malicious activities.
